Twisted Black zu lebenslänglich verurteilt
Forth Worth, Texas-based rapper Twisted Black was recently sentenced to life in prison, according to a statement on the artist’s webpage. The 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tommy Burns, was found guilty of conspiracy to sell crack cocaine in a US District court after being arrested by DEA authorities back in July of this year. According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the government’s case was built on the testimony of Courtney Iglehart, who claimed that he met Black at a Fort Worth recording studio and paid him $4,500 for a quarter kilogram of powder cocaine in February 2005. Iglehart is already serving a 10-year sentence for selling crack, and much of the defense’s strategy related to questioning the credibility of the trial’s key witnesses.
Shortly after Black’s initial arrest, it was announced that he had
signed a new solo deal with indie powerhouse label TVT Records. Black
first gained fame as a member of ’90s rap duo One Gud Cid, releasing
two independent albums to moderate regional success and even briefly
signing a deal with Suave House/Universal. Black’s solo debut Late Bloomer was released in 2003 and his latest, The Life Of Tommy Burns, was released last year.

Pharrell verurteilt zu... nein nur Spass...Pharrell sponsort Skate-Team
While Pharrell Williams is busy promoting his skateboarding team and clothing line, Team Ice Cream, many skate enthusiasts have dismissed the hit producer as a “poser.”
Several skate stores have begun selling T-shirts with the print slogan “Pharrell Can’t Skate” – a reference to his nickname “Skateboard P” – and accusing him of exploiting the culture.
“I never said I was going to skate,” Pharrell recently told the New York Post.
“I can’t see why anyone would ever be mad at me for helping to push the door open for everybody else. [Skateboarding] really influenced a big part of my life, just like music did.”
Meanwhile, Pharrell’s skateboarding crew is releasing “Team Ice Cream Vol. 1 Skate Video,” a DVD which features footage of their recent world tour. He also announced an upcoming ice cream parlor in Manhattan, scheduled to open in April 2007.
In related news, Pharrell may appear at a London charity event marking the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death.
Her surviving sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, are reportedly compiling a short list of artists for the event – including Beyonce, Madonna, Kylie Minogue, and Elton John.
The concert is scheduled for July 1 at UK’s Wembley Stadium.

Young Buck haut ATL-DJ aufs Maul
A recent incident in Atlanta involving Young Buck has prompted one of the city's radio stations to blacklist the Tennessee rapper from ever being played again.
According to SOHH sources, on Sunday (November 26) Young Buck (born David Darnell Brown) performed in Atlanta's Club Nocturnal. After his performance, Buck announced he had some business to handle with Hot 107.9 DJ Will, who was deejaying prior to Buck hitting the stage. Apparently, Buck did not take kindly to Will's decision to play The Game's single "It's Ok (One Blood)" earlier that night, so he headed to the booth and reportedly grabbed DJ Will by his shirt. Although DJ Will stood up for himself, he was outnumbered by members of Buck's entourage who jumped in. As a result, Hot 107.9 program director Jerry Smokin' B has banned Young Buck from the station's playlist.
While the incident has already negatively affected Young Buck's Atlanta airplay, the rapper could also be in serious trouble with the law. As SOHH previously reported, Buck is currently on probation as a result of charges stemming from his role in the violence that occurred at the 2004 Vibe Awards.
This incident could also spell trouble for G-Unit's relationship with Lil Jon's BME Recordings because DJ Will is also employed by BME as a DJ for Jon. G-Unit and BME recently entered a partnership that involves the cross promotion of artists including Lil' Scrappy.
This isn't the first time in recent weeks that the G-Unit/Game beef has caused problems in Atlanta. According to sources, Game was involved in a minor altercation with another Hot 107.9 DJ, King Arthur, at an afterparty he hosted following the BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Although during the show The Game announced that he was no longer beefing with 50 Cent, he apparently still took offense when King Arthur played a song by G-Unit because he approached the DJ and the two got into an altercation.
