Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - [Ama:] Auf die Insel: Klashnekoff besuchen
Und wieder zurück auf dem Weg zur Musik...
Dieses Mal, meine Damen und Herren, bewegen wir uns erneut gen Norden, zu unseren britischen Freunden auf die Insel, und beleuchten das Leben und Schaffen von Darren Kandler aka Klashnekoff.
Aber lassen wir die unsäglichen Einleitungsorgien mal bei Seite. Bereits bei meinem Londonaufenthalt im Mai 2006 sprang mir der wehrte Herr Klashnekoff, auch bekannt als K-Lash, vom Cover der renommierten HipHopConnection entgegen und seitdem, verfolge ich sporadisch den Weg des aus dem Londoner Stadteil Hackney stammenden Rappers. Ich also kurz mal wieder myspace gecheckt und gesehen, dass er mal eben sein komplettes Profil geändert und einfach meinen favorite Song raus genommen hat. Penner. Egal. Da der Typ dennoch einiges kann und ihm nicht umsonst eine nette Karriere prophezeit wurde (hauptsache da kommt jetzt bald auch mal wieder was), hier ein kurzer Abriss seines Schaffens, inklusive Beispielmaterial für das nächste Schulreferat. Allerdings nur in kurz, da ich sicherlich noch an anderer Stelle etwas genauer über ihn berichten werde.
Aufgewachsen im Londoner Stadteil Hackney, hat er laut Eigenaussage bereits mit 10 Jahren angefangen zu schreiben, ist aber wohl erst durch Produzent Joe Buhdha richtig durchgestartet, veröffentlichte man doch gemeinsam 2007 die Scheibe "Lionheart: Tussle Of The Beasts". Seit 2001 allerdings schon gemeinsam mit seiner Gruppe Terra Firma so einiges abgerissen. Hängt auf Low Life Records und veröffentlichte dort die bisher letzte Single "My Life" im Februar 07.
